This next art project, I really enjoyed! It was fun, cool and unique! In this project, we had to make an abstract skateboard. Since we had to draw an abstract skateboard, we couldn't draw any kind of form or object that represented something. So, in my skateboard I drew many different kinds of weird shapes and lines. I also used three colors. Red, gold/orange, and black. These colors worked well together, and also looked nice with the different kinds of shapes and lines!

My Room (:
In this project, we had to draw a room. But it wasn't just any ordinary room. We started off by drawing the vanishing point. This point basically helps you connect with your parallel lines. At first, I had a hard time understanding what I had to do, and how I should draw it. The vanishing point was kind of confusing for me, but in the end I figured it out. Although using the vanishing point may be difficult it helps you create a 3-D kind of look. It was an interesting and new project, and although I had trouble I still had fun drawing! :D
Portrait # 2
For this second art project, we had to draw a front portrait of any person we chooose. This time, I chose a picture of my friend named Eunice. I chose this picture, because it also showed a very clear view of her face and it also showed very good lighting. Again, we used a the grid technique. Since this was my second time drawing a person, I improved a lot and drawing it became easier for me. This time I made sure to add a lot of shading and I made sure to focus on her porportions. I was very satisfied with my picture in the end. I enjoyed my work and I had a lot of fun working on it! (= I hope you guys enjoy it!

Side Portrait # 1
In this art project, we worked on drawing side portraits of any person we choose. I decided to draw a side portrait of my friend, Leslie because the picture showed a clear view of her cheek bones, and overall just a good clear view of the side of her face. We started off using the grid technique. This technique is very useful and easy, you start off by measuring your paper and making boxes according to your measurements. So instead of trying to draw the whole thing, you can just focus on a specific part for each box. I had to focus on my shading, and whether it should be lighter or darker. I had a little trouble with my proportions, but in the end I worked it out. I really enjoyed this first project. It was interesting and fun! I also learned a lot about drawing, and that you really have to focus on many things. (=

Welcome to my blog! (:
My name is Soh What and I'm very excited to start blogging and to learn about art. In this class, we will create a digital portfolio. I can't wait! This portfolio will allow me to show my art, to my teacher and fellow friends. I hope to see the progression I have made throughout the year! (=
